I was invited to join facebook.com recently and at the time I thought it was just like Myspace, but maybe not quite as cool. I decided to join Facebook and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I like it a lot better than Myspace. Myspace is great if you are a band or musician but as a social networking tool it's just too over-the-top. Having the ability to design your own pages in Myspace is a great feature but I also believe it to be their greatest detriment. Most of the pages I see are completely out of control and are so hard to read that it's just not worth the effort. Facebook does not allow you to modify the pages (to my limited knowledge) but every time I see a friends profile I can read it, I can see the pictures, and I can find what I am looking for quickly and easily. The other major knock on Myspace is the amount of "bad" things occur there, like 40 year old men claiming they are 16 year old girls. Facebook seems a little less likely of place for those sorts of things because it seems much too "personal". On Facebook, I am me, on Myspace I am an alias.

A while back I showed a "big foot" esque photo claiming to have seen the Google Street View car in Kansas City. I actually did see the car, but I was so far away that the picture didn't look good at all. By a stroke of luck, I happened upon the GSV car again recently and this time, I give you a very clear picture of what a GSV car looks like! Google Street View is coming to Kansas City!

If you don't have windows

For those who have been to the Reactor office, you probably noticed that we don't have windows. We are located in an old ice storage warehouse, so the walls are something like 3 feet thick and solid brick. Needless to say, we probably need this graphic in our office.

Check out this blog, it has some pretty awesome Japanese videos. Including this video about a "theme park" that has ramen baths and curry baths. The bubbling baths even look like giant noodle bowls! The site is in english.

Here is yet another GIANT remote. This one looks a little more practical as it's much more ergonomic.

I have now officially seen every tactic from Telemarketers. They used to be so clever by having the caller ID say "Unknown Caller" or something like that. Then they started using phone numbers with area codes instead of 866 so you would think it was a real person calling you. Since none of those tactics work anymore, they are now just going back to the basics. Here is what my caller ID said on an incoming call last week....
This jumbo remote from handhelditems.com is positively NOT hand held! The pictures provided are awesome, especially the comparison to the can of green tea.
